Yeah. When I did my tie rods + PS delete, I was off 1 turn (on the tie rod) and It was stiff as a bitch; until I got an alignment. -

permanent fix would be to put ps on. e30s are light but not that light. do you have an aftermarket steering wheel thats smaller?Leave a comment:

THE PUMP acrtually acts as a steering dampener in a the factory setup.Leave a comment:

the fluid actually doesn't lubricate the rack. The spacers should be above the rack, so you are good there.Leave a comment:

I would try to let some fluid out to see if that helps the problem. The only reason the fluid is needed, is to lubricate the rack. A very slight amount will do, as the ATF fluid spreads easily.Leave a comment:

I used a alum block and filled the rack. turning it one way then the other. and topped it off.How much PS fluid did you leave in your rack? Also, what method did you use; alum block, ps line loop, 2 holes?
If there is too much fluid, it will be stiff as hell and jerk back because there is no room for the fluid to travel. On my PS delete, I left about an ounce of fluid in there.Leave a comment:

I had a similar problem with my ps delete. It was the same problem, too much fluid no where to go.Leave a comment:
