I actually have some more info on this.
In the passenger side pic where it shows that there's spacing between the rubber part and the RSM; all of that falls and it looks normal inside the trunk when the car's jacked up.
But when you look underneath, you find that same spacing that we saw in the trunk when the car was sitting flat, not jacked up.
EDIT: And as a side note, the RSM's that were installed with the coilovers are new..Last edited by theox69; 11-07-2009, 07:16 AM.

Originally posted by theox69 View PostSorry, I should have clarified. They're not new oem ones. They're rsm's that came with the coilovers, so I'm sure they'd be able to withstand their own product.
Who knows what RSM they sold you, but it failed. RSM "push-through" in common with RSM that are not up to par with your application.
"Their "HD" (Heavy Duty) version features a revised conical center section that makes it virtually impossible to push through (see cutaway picture above)." [p.s. UUC are some douchebags]
Clearly, your RSMs are not immune to pushing through, so you should get ones up to the task.
I like these: http://store.bimmerworld.com/shared/...t=products.asp
Especially this: "This part, including the urethane bushings, has a lifetime guarantee to the original purchaser."
See how there is aluminum on top of the urethane so the bushing cannot pop out? Yeah, your piece of crap RSM is not correctly designed for the stresses of the suspension you have on and it broke.

At first, I didn't think the kit came with rear shock mounts, so when I had my coilovers installed, I was under the impression my stock ones were being used.
After further inspection, I saw that my stock rear shock mounts were still on my old shocks, and I had new ones that came with the coilovers.
Obviously, like you said, they were pushed through. Having never experienced this, I didn't know what it was and posted here looking for some advice. I figured a company wouldn't put use something in conjunction with their product that couldn't withstand their actual product -- that'd be pretty stupid.
Thanks to you, I understand now that I need new, much heavier-duty rear shock mounts.

The solid aluminum ones are also upwards of $200 and my car's my DD...
I'm stuck between AKG, GC, Meyle, and Rogue Engineering...
Can someone chime in?

I run the TCK monoball RSMs and I "daily" my car. I'm a graduate student so the only time I take it out are to get groceries or beer. Mostly to get beer.
