    H&R Race springs..

Wnats the difference between these and the springs you'd get in the Cup kit?

Also what length/rate springs would you run?

I was thinking 130 or 140 length in the rear but not a clue about rate..

Not a clue bout length in the front..

I'd run them with Koni adj dampers

    One's a real suspension.

As for the rest of the questions, I'll spare you my misinformation.

If you are looking for a race suspension, the H&R race springs will do a much better job. I told you I wouldnt answer the rest because I'm not sure on the numbers.

Rob had a Cup Kit on his 318iS and every autocross picture he had, the bottom lip was scraping off the floor because that thing has as much body roll as stock suspension, only this time you're 2.5" closer to the floor.

I personally got IE3 springs and Bilstein shocks. Great value. I love them at the track, and they are still a pretty decent ride for the city.

Sway bars correct the body roll issue with the Cup Kit, I don't have THAT much roll anymore

Still... now you're talking more money for the same deal. My car barely has any body roll and I have no rear swaybars. I paid just about the same as you usually would from a regular Cup Kit shipped, no more than $100 than the Cup Kit.

I wont go as far as say my car would outhandle yours, but I'm still not fond of the Cup Kit.

not looking for race sus, but i've heard the cup kits arent that stiff altho they are low (hence bottoming out probs), so i was thinking bout the race springs as they can be chosen in a harder rate and i could factor in a bit of adjustability with some koni top adjustable dampers

anti roll bars will be done in time as well

IE 3 with Konis on full soft, good enough of a ride. A bit rough, but I've had no one say it's uncomfortable when riding with me.

IE stage III is not enough to completely eliminate body roll, even dedicated auto-x cars with more aggressive setups get roll. It might not feel like its rolling but it is unless you're really not taking a hard turn at speed. ;)

Nah I'm saying this based on watching e30 gangsta drive my car, and the pics that TJ took of me drifting. It's very little body roll, and I'm sure the stock sway bar ( when installed ) will make a bit more of a difference.

iI wasnt aware that sliding the tires, overcoming the stiction that "makes" body roll in the first place, produces body roll :)
Word on the street is that IE Stage 3 and H&R Races are the same, just different manufacturers.
If so, its a great setup.

..when your car is not getting traction and it's sliding around in a turn, the behavior is different than when it has traction and is in a turn. Body roll might not be aesthetically pleasing but its a trait of the car in motion and is not as bad as some make it seem for the kinda driving most people do.

I'm glad to hear this, as it's the exact same setup I plan on running, with swaybars.

Do the springs and shocks before the sways. I really don't want new sways with these springs. It's agressive enough for me, but who knows though, I might change my mind after a few autoxes... ;)

Well, I had planned to drive with just the shocks/springs for a while, until I have a good feel for the new suspension, and then do swaybars later.
