Not true. Cabrio bar is biggest diameter, M3 bar is smallest diameter.

The cabrio bar idea is good, but they are hard to find because all of the yuppie girls are still driving them after their first divorce, in hopes of remaining attractive to the pool boy that they don't have anymore (since the divorce).

Yuppie "girls" still drive 1987 325iCs?

I think we have a term for that these days.

What size are m3 front bars? I wonder why I always thought they were 21mm...

I could get cabrio sway bars all day long at scrap yards here in Socal...

both M3 and cabrio bars are 21mm. The cabrio bar has slightly different geometry which makes it effectively stiffer on standard swaybar links.

I run cabrio bar with m3 adjustable front links welded to strut tubes and a m3 rear reinforced with IE's kit. When I made those decisions it was talked about as the stiffest bars you could get out of the e30 bmw parts bin without going aftermarket. Further it has been said that the m3 link geometry off the strut vs off the control arm effectively increases the power of a thinner bar.

I didn't pay a lot of attention in college, so I can't confirm any of that. Used to be pretty common thinking though I thought.

wouldnt you upgrade both since they come in a kit? Or are we talking about strut braces?

I've read time and time again that M3 front bars are 19mm. With the M3 endlink setup I believe they're more effective than the cabrio front bar with standard endlinks.

You're right. This is eventually what I will be running as well, but I've been too lazy to pull the strut housings and everything.
