I had kybs and vogtlands on my last car. I ran them for approximately 45,000 miles. They were decent shocks for the price. About a year ago I swapped them out for billies and havent looked back. Honestly, as low as the vogtlands drop the car, you will need shocks stiff enough to keep you from bottoming out and murdering your oilpan. Save up and go for bilsteins one time and be done with it. The KYBs are too soft of a shock to be run with the vogtland springs. This is coming from someone with considerable firsthand experience with this EXACT setup.Originally posted by ebelementsAlso, for those who don't know, negative camber is the greatest thing since sliced bread(panera). Yeah, I hear you. Once you get your KYBs point me to the trash can where you´re throwing those disgusting billys away. I´ll save you from being fined by your county´s environment conservation office, for free!1998 528i auto on staggered DSIIComment

I have a question. I installed GR2's on the front of my car about a year ago to replace the blown stock shocks. Now I want to upgrade the suspension and I bought a set of Vogtland springs. I have Bilstein sports I can put in the rear. I also kind of need camber plates up front and was thinking of Ground Control, but they lower the front another .5 inches. Would the vogtland springs and camber plate just be way too low for GR2's? Also would the GR2's pair well with the Bilstein Sports in the rear?Comment

I have been running Stagg and Vogtlands for the last year. Comfortable ride and decent drop but if you drive hard don't plan on them lasting for more than your first hard bump. Blew them out on a bump on backroads to Bimmerfest this year. They were always a little too soft and not enough damping for my taste but pretty comfortable and it looked good. Bought the set for so cheap of eBay it was a good start till I decided which way I wanted to go for my real suspension. Looking and Ground Control coilover or H&R and Billy sports.Comment

I'm running stock springs up front with KYB Excel G inserts with Lemforder strut bearings. They've been in for 50K km... no complaints. I installed those along with refreshed control arms/bushings and tie rods, and it really tightened things back up.Estoguy

I just took a set of gas-a-just struts from the front out. I'm on fk springs, tire was equal to the front fender. And it bottomed out so hard that it cracked the bottom of the strut and was filling up the strut tube.. but ride good when I had stick springs in it. Just weren't meant for lowering springs.88 d21 draggin pavement
