Ground Control guys - Who uses 4" rear springs to get low ??

So, I have the GC 450/600 kit with 6" 450lb springs up front and 5" 600lb springs in the rear.
I have Koni G60 rado front struts and standard e30 m3 rear konis

I am looking for another 1/2" of drop in the rear so who has gone to 4" rear springs? And for those of you that did, what spring rate did you run?

    I was looking at HyperCoil
http://www.hypercoils.com/Catalog.aspx - Click on 2.25id for the rears and you can get whatever you want for a reasonable price from a good company.

So who runs 4" rear springs what spring rate do you run?
    Thanks
    James

I'm mildly interested in this as well.
My question is if you run the shorter spring, do you have to increase your rate?

Do you just lose travel? Are there any other downsides?

I just don't know, but would love to be educated.

I will be. Planning on running around a 700lb rate. This doesn't really help you lol.

I know that the rear shocks start to run out of travel pretty quick with 5" rear springs, so you may need to find another shock that fits or run the GC raised rear shock mounts.

I'm not sure if the prices on that site are per spring or not but GC also sells 4" springs for a similar price fwiw.

you dont necessarily have to up the spring rate, but it means you are just that much closer to bottoming out, without having a stiffer spring to help prevent that

Yeah, just be wary that 4" springs will run into coil bind before 5" or 6". You will probably be okay with a stiff spring rate.

I have 4" hyperco springs on the back on mine, with the adjusters all way down. Its a 600 lb spring.

yeah but a 4" spring WITH the adjuster is like a 5" or taller spring after its installed. I run a 5" spring with no adjuster and Im tucking a lot of rear tire on a late model.

Do you understand what I mean? 4" + adjuster = 5+ inch height.

I guess we need to know what the OP is planning on running. A 4" spring WITH or WITHOUT an adjuster?

WITH an adjuster you should be just fin, WITHOUT you may have coil binding and/or bottoming out of the shocks. I hope that all makes sense

I bottom out the rear shocks on 5" springs with no adjuster so I can't see 4" springs being of much use.

run a 5" without the adjuster. Youll be just fine. If you bottom out, get your shocks revalved

Its just like running a regular stock spring...

The adjuster in is only like 3/8" thick so it's like having a 4-3/8" spring. So I think it's lower then just a 5" spring with no adjuster.

I run the 4'' with 700 or 750 rear springs and I have had them all the way down. I love them.

Right guys but the adjuster also keeps the spring centered.
You dont think the springs have a chance to move around while compressed? That is what I am scared about.
