    Need help addressing preload.

    Hi everybody,

About to go have my AST 4100 kit installed next week, but before I do I want to figure out what I need to buy to solve the preload issue that arises with lowered e30s.

I'm sticking with my stock sway bars, but do I need adjustable sway bar end links, or would I be fine with just e28 end links? Where would be the cheapest place to get e28 end links, or if I need adjustable sway bar end links, who makes the best one?

    Do I need e30 m3 weld-on tabs? Shown hee: http://www.akgmotorsport.com/catalog/catalog.php

Someone also told me about a different method where I could buy something from an e36 that would attach to the coil of my AST coilovers? I'm not really too sure what the actual part is called.

Any advice/info appreciated, just trying to figure out what parts I need to purchase to complete my set-up and get it all installed correctly which includes dealing with preload. Also I forgot to point out I want to buy parts to take care of preload for the front AND rear, not sure if that makes any difference in what people might have to say.

    Thanks!

Okay, so when you say preload, you're referring to swaybar preload.

Sway bar preload only occurs when the distance from the end of the sway to the suspension pickup point isn't equal on both sides. A simple change in ride height won't cause preload. A reduction in ride height calls for shorter sway links to get the ends of the sways back to approximately parallel to the ground when the suspension is normally loaded. But is the drop isn't extreme you can get away with using the stock links.

I don't know of any adjustable sway links that will work with the rear sways.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Sorry I wasn't aware of a different preload. I meant swaybar preload. I plan to go pretty low and I want to take this car to the track so I think I should do something about it, just not sure what I will need. I'll give RS4pro3 a PM.

I think this is what my friend was talking about:

It comes with the AST 4100 for e36's, but does anyone know if it will bolt-on to my e30 set-up? It says as long as the strut threaded body is 51.4mm in diameter. Too bad AST -USA is closed today otherwise I would call...

I wanted to use those along with e28 end links.
