    Installation of M3 Springs on a 1988 325is

I have a couple of questions i know many of you can answer. I am currently in the process of deciding whether to install M3 springs in my current daily driver. the car is a 1988 325is and i am concerned with the load/weight of the 6 cylinder since the spring was designed for a lighter 4 cylinder car. Another problem i need to know if fitment will be an issue? Have any of you came across any problems while installing these springs. They will be new, so i dont have to worry about condition of these springs. Thanks in advance.

No fitment issues at all. I've seen M3 springs installed on 325i/is and a few 318i/is.....the spring perch is the same size so it drops right in. As for motor weight concerns, the E30 M3s S14 isn't much lighter than the M20....I want to say somewhere in the 30-40lb. range (someone correct me if I'm mistaken).

Do you plan to use stock shocks or aftermarket parts? Either should work just fine, but that latter will give better handling.

Can you use the Bilsteins that came with the 325is models with the M3 springs? only lowers .75 inch.. or will that blow the shocks?

Just installed the front E30 M3 springs on my '90 325is w/Bilstein HD's and it so far it is quite a bit lower.

Although, the 'M3' front springs appeared to be slightly smaller in coil diameter - have to measure to make sure. Maybe I got someone's 318i springs?
