KW vs. FK vs. Weitec vs. AP Sport vs. G&M

KW and FK is popular with the VW crowd, but I don't think it ever took off with the E30 crowd.

I still have my car up for sale, but if it doesn't sell soon, I think I might look for new springs. I like the way my car handles right now, but I'm not loving our stupid un-even fender arches.

Looking for a 60/40 or a similar drop. Just seeing if you guys have an opinion on what to go with.
FK makes 75/50 drop I believe, but I think that's a little overkill for streetdriving. I really don't know much about G&M and Weitec, other than a lot of cars on E30.de are rockin' them.

I have the fk 60 /40 kit....pretty stiff for just street driving but it doesnt bother me. The drop is plenty, Front and rear are tucking tire a bit but thats with no spring pads in the rear.....I don't know about any of the others but I'm sure you wont be dissapointed with fk. KW only makes coilovers to the best of my knowledge so there will be a pretty substantial difference.

KW does have their lowering springs, and lowering spring/shock kits. As far as I know, they are about the same price as FK stuff.

Only advantage with going FK is that I can get them in Canada, whereas KW, I'd have buy from the states --> more $$$.

As much as people talk trash about FK, everyone who actually have FK springs/kits seem to be happy. The company operation seems shady, but as long as the product is good, im sold.

FYI, i waited a month and a half for an FK 60/40 spring/shock set to arrive from ngpracing.com; then they told me my stuff was backordered at FK @ never made it across the pond. oh well, at least they gave me my money back.

you can reportedly get KW setups from tunershop.com; but i've heard they're not an authorized US dealer, so you can't warranty anything you buy from them.

weitec has a pretty bad reputation among the people i've talked to (& their only US dealer, rapidparts.com, told me "might not fit US-spec cars, buy at your own risk"); you'd be better off getting an H&R cup kit from the comments i heard.

At this time we do not offer anything for the E30 BMW. However, we are
hoping this will change later in the season here in North America. Keep

Also, I've driven Dan Gillan's car a few times, which has the FK 60/40 kit. Its a nice suspension for the money, much stiffer than the eibach pro-kit or h&r sports. Its actually pretty similar in feel to my GC 350/475 set-up.

yeah, that's what they'll tell you, again, because they don't have any authorized US dealers. check the suspension section on tunershop's site and you'll find the e30 stuff.

they have variants 1&2 of the coilover setups as well.

I think I'll give AMI a call tomorrow, and see if they can get the FK 60/40 springs.
I was looking at the pics of the calypso 325 with FK 60/40 and the stance is just so perfect. I need to find someone with a 318 and see what the drop is like...

FK has stopped selling stuff here in the States. If you wanted a FK kit, you'd have to buy it overseas and ship it here. Not worth it. Also, their shocks have been known to blow out rather easily, but I have no proof of this. You'd be better off without FK at the least.

KW makes suspensions for the E30.

They only make KW Variant 1 and KW Variant 2, No Variant 3 yet.

They also make KW sport suspension, spring and struts.

60/40 drop, and 60/60, and other drops.

www.kwsuspensions.com the NA distributor won't sell them for the E30s tho. I have no idea why, maybe cause they don't think they will sell those items.

But you can get them from www.tunershop.com.

You can get the KW coilovers from them. But only thing is they won't warranty them like how NA distributor does to stuff off there site.

Alot of my friends run KW Variant 2 on there e39s and love them.

I have the KW sport suspension 60/40 drop. I love how it rides, pretty stiff for spirit driving. Looks really good also.

FWIW, AP Sport was never and isn't sold in North America either.
