Who's using Koni top adjustable rear shocks?

I'm sure there are a lot of people using the GC or TCK top adjustable rears and liking them. But who's using the off-the-shelf Koni 8041-1186 sports?

Any reason to think they would be too soft for H&R sport springs? I think they'd be fine, but since they are made for solid axle Mustangs, I'm not positive.

TCK does not re-valve their shocks for the e30 kits. I don't know off hand what my part numbers are for the rear shocks from the D/A kit, but I'm sure TCK will be more than happy to give that information. They told me the part number for the fronts because I had to purchase a new strut insert.

EDIT: Never answered the question. I'm not sure how they'd perform with H&R sports, I don't know if that is enough spring. I run a 700# spring in the rear with the D/A shock.

    '87 535i - Vacuum brake conversion [SOLD]
    '93 525iT - 5-speed swap - 320k and counting
    '09 328xi - 6-speed

Thanks for the info., it look like TCK sells top adjustable SA rear under part no. 8041-1186TCK and labels them a "TCK exclusive". So I wonder if they revalve them or shorten the bodies or just modify them to fit 10mm rsms. I should call them and ask for their corporate secrets, but that seems kinda douchy.

In any case, it would appear that the top adjustable koni mustang shocks are OK for a lowered e30 suspension?

And are you using the 12mm rsm's?

Correct. I'm running the TCK monoball rear shock mounts, according to their website it seems like they are 10mm.

They have to be 12mm. You can't get the adjuster rod in a 10mm shaft.

So how does this work, do you punch a hole in the trunk liner, or are these more of a "race only" app so no one runs a trunk liner?

unless you are adjusting these things at every track day/between autox runs, you don't need top adjusters.

Basically set it and forget it. I've adjusted my rear shocks maybe 3 times in the last 8 years.

Makes sense. I figure I am gonna have the heaviest E30 on the planet, but I want it to retain some decent handling.
