hate to ask about a beat topic, but I didn't want to haul a thread from the dead either. I've got a late-model 325is with stock sways. if i've read correctly, I have 20/12 f/r? Would it be worth my time and effort to swap to cabrio front and iX rear? afaik, that's a gain of +1/+2.5 f/r? Would that difference even be noticeable?

I'm putting an IX 14.5mm bar on the rear of my vert this week. Hoping to reduce the understeer...sigpic

if it's understeer into a transition, it might even make it worse. if it's steady state, it might help. A lot of times E30s need a stiffer front bar, not a stiffer rear. but the ix/m3 rear bar is a pretty mild upgrade anyway.Comment

Steady state. I'm also putting in camber plates and adjusting toe to zero or slightly out. Between that and the rear bar I'm hoping to address some of the issue. Then off to the track for some testing.sigpic

14.5 bushings are required. I bought new brackets, they were only a few dollars each. Check realoem to see if the part numbers are the same on an ix as an 325i and if so you can reuse your brackets.sigpic

The front and rear brackets are the same for 20/21 and 12/14.5. Only the bushings are different. I did the same swap and I was pleased. It was much cheaper then an aftermarket sway kit and for a DD I think it is great.

got the 14.5 bar in, feels better in the back. i had pretty gnarly body roll before, so it brought me a step closer to being flat. i picked up a cabrio bar this weekend to swap up front.1989 325is / 2.7, 274 cam, e30 M3 5-lug
