    koni yellow abjustables AGAIN...

So i bought myself a set of koni yellow adjustable today. I've had a look on forums and on the koni website and I'm still very confused. Thisis for the rear by the way.

I've fully depressed the shock and turned clockwise, how do I know if I have adjusted to full stiff before putting them into my car?

Any help would be fantastic. Thankyou

There should be a stop so once the knob is set to full stiff its obvious.

Also, why do you want them run them full stiff?

I was told from my retailer that there is something of a break in period where its better to run the shocks on a softer setting. Full stiff probably isn't the ideal valving for your spring either.

Ok, thanks for that heads up buddy.

Can they be damaged by too much turning?

Not unless you use excessive force.

Understand that the adjustment on the Koni SA shocks is only for rebound damping, which is the rate at which the shock extends after being compressed. Where that adjustment needs to be is determined by the spring rates. For OE springs, zero or 1/2 turn is about right. H&R race springs would probably like 2-2.5 turns. The point of adjustable shocks is to be able to tune the shock to the springs in use and to be able to compensate for wear.

If you set the rebound damping too high for the springs used the tires won't follow rough surfaces and handling will suffer.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

did you remove the bumpstops from the rear before you tried to adjust them? you can't adjust the rears without removing the bump stops first. Also, I left the rear bump stops out for easy adjustment later. I don't even know if it's possible to bottom them out. at least in 8 years, it's never happened..

yes, run them soft for a while, then crank them up. I liked to set mine where the springs no longer "bounced" (basically controlling the spring effectively). That happened to be 100% stiff up front, and about 50-60% in the rear. I wouldn't go full stiff in the rear though - it's very, very stiff.
