What tube size? 45mm/51mm

I have a 86 325es that needs struts/shocks. When browzing various sites, they list apps for 45mm and 51mm tube sizes. What does the 325es use?

51mm. Make sure it's an eS though. I heard some 86 325 base models had 45mm tubes but can't confirm this.

No, 51mm. 84-85 318i and some 86-87 325 base models (according to Bentley) had 45mm struts.
