steering rack upgrade for ix?

my rack is leaking a bit and i wanted to know if the rack in the ix was the same as the rack for other e30's. Basically i want a quicker rack if possible.

it's totally different. however it might be possible to change the gearing out for another ratio. but there is no way to mount say an E36 rack in an ix that I know of.

is there a way to rebuild them yourself so it would not be leaking anymore? I'd be interested in trying and also changing the ratio.
