    I did the exact same thing over the weekend and was considering starting almost the exact same thread. Trippy.

    My thought process is that the red loctite wont let go without a serious amount of torque or some pretty high temps. And I don't see how it would get more than 1/2 inch pound of torque on it.

    I wanted to know if anyone else has done this. But I guess anyone who has and failed is dead.

      Red Locktite should prevent the inner rods from loosening, but for safety I would not consider leaving the tie rods like that. You are going to have a lot of fun getting those off to install the lock plates. The odds are good that you won't get them off with heating the joint to around 400F.

        loctite can substitute for ducttape, and a gun can substitute for the hammer...:D
