      I just put the UUC kit in my 93 vert.
      I did have to cut a couple holes in the trunk sheet metal to accomodate the large 2-hole washers for the sway bar mounts. Not a big deal and the car handles great!!!

        Putting on the UUC kit this month myself. The final suspension upgrade.

        Mars, how noticeable was the improvement in handling with the new sways?

          Very noticeable! The car stays nice and flat in corners. I set the rear bar in the middle position initially. It seems perfect this way. I might try moving it to the other positions this weekend and see if it steers any differently.

            Talked to the guys at elephant motorsports thy told me my bars are about perfect for my setup. Gonna hit the auto-x and find out.

              I was wondering but does the reinforcement plates for the front bar that come with IE plate require welding.
              I am trying to find a kit that does not require any welding.

                I had IE sways all the way around in my previous car and they worked great and gave me very balanced handling, my only complaint is that the "slip" clamps that attach the rear links were always slipping and hard to balance left to right. I prefer the welded on type system, especially since they offer 3 positions and you can pretty much set it and forget it from there.

                With either kit be sure to take your time and carefully align the required weld-on brackets for the rear trailing arms, they may require some grinding to get them to align correctly before welding them on. Take your time here and you will get a very nice setup. If you can't weld well be sure to find someone you can, or they will break off after a few spirited drives!

                I started a thread in this section trying to find out if anyone has ditched the rear bar completely and just gone with stiff rear springs, I'm curious about this before moving on to get sway bars for my current e30 318is.

                  I want to bump this thread up as I'm in the market for a set of sways. I don't really like the slip design of the IE rear adjusters. Do both kits require welding?

                  I'm thinking about the IE adjustable front with the UUC adjustable rear. Any idea why UUC does not make their front bar adjustable?

                  There seem to be a lot of different opinions out there on the "correct" sway bar setup on an e30. It seems adjustability front and rear would be good to dial in the setup.

                    That kit would be called stock. And they can still rip out.

                    The reinforcement plates for both of those are junk. AKG has the plate that gets welded on three sides for about $20. The rear aurora bearing that will come with either kit are junk too. If you do some research you can find proper hardened bearing casings. I saw the ones that IE provided and they were the cheapest ones aurora makes in that style. No wonder they break so frequently.

                    On the rear bar, I do like the ie bracket better than the uuc and that is the only reason I would pick that over the other. Racing dynamics bars are smaller but more realistic for dd than the others as they are noisy as hell.

                      With any swaybar kit for the e30 you should do some welding, how much is up to you.

                      My guess as to why UUC doesn't have a front adjustable listed is because it would be used for Spec E30 racing ( IE also carries a Spec E30 bar, take a look and you'll see there is only one hole as well.)

                      IE's kit uses a hollow front bar so it's going to be lighter without reducing effectiveness (just higher raw material cost), if you want an explanation on that go ask an engineering student .

                              Any reinforcement of the rear mounting tabs will require mounting; there's no other way to permanently attach the reinforcement brackets with enough strength.

                              If your rear tabs are not broken, you could install the swaybars without reinforcing them... but with E30 tabs, it's not if they will break... it's when.
