I appreciate all the advise as well. Ive been sitting here on the computer googling around researching as much as possible. I am no looking to go super cheap either, just honestly dont have $1500 to shell out on the GC set.

I think I should be able to achieve pretty lowness and decent ride quality. Opinions?
You forgot to cut the bumpstops in half to improve shock travel.

ive had both and in all honesty most coilover setup dont like being driven on the street unless you live in like FL or something where everything is flat far as eye can see. ive had GC on my e36 with the short bodies and you feel every pebble you run over, high performance and ride comfort dont always go hand in hand

if you are on hr race springs/billy sports then you are already good!

you can be on that setup until you have money for a gc kit. Im on Hr race and bilsteins and i do good on the track. Im in you same exact seat i dont have money for GC's yet so until i do i am fine where i am. But watching other people do cheap coilovers is a waste of time.

          $400 conversion kit
          $250 camber plates
$400 front race or GC koni's
          $220 rear koni's

$1300 for a good setup. i think its worth the wait

I came from driving vdubs and throwing coilovers on and hammering the balls out of it. This is way different than ive ever dealt with for sure. And funny you say florida, because i just moved from florida to here in Indiana where we got shit ass roads. Yea ride quality is important to me...but im wanting to go lower than what i am now and i refuse to cut springs and do some african engineering.

I lived in Orlando. Loved the roads. Do the rears go low with no modification? Just bolt up and adjust it down.

if you want a slammed rear you dont use the adjusters

Alrighty then. I've also heard of people removing the spring pads as well...but doesnt sound like a good idea because thats metal on metal.

the GC upper spring pad is only 1/16 inch thick, and isolates the spring, so you dont need to go metal to metal

On the GC site it shows this kit listed at $1499. Seems a little cheap for the complete kit no?
