    JOM Coilover Help!

I will be ordering a set of coilovers for my early model soon, and ive seen pictures of them on cars and they dont sit low enough for me, especially the back. The price is great and i heard there good for dailying so im gonna take the risk and get them. What are my options for going lower with these? I already know of a few, just shoot me some more options.
    Thanks

Also, if i shorten the front strut housing an inch or so will i need new shocks, or will the JOM ones blow fast? Same question with the rear, if i get 4 inch springs will i need new shocks?
    Thanks Again

If you shorten the strut housings the shocks will blow for sure. You can take out the adjusters in the rear to lower it and cut the dead coil. I heard that the drop hats work with the JOMs but I haven't seen any pictures installed.

Front seems to go really low. Back just use a standard race spring and adjuster from say GC or Vorshlag.

i think im gonna take the adjuster out of both the front and the back. my friend has a spring that is either 4 or 5 inch from his old vw coilovers, that im gonna try. does anyone know the rear spring length? Also could someone show me a diagram, or try to explain a dead coil?
        Thanks

You can't shorten the struthousing unless you're putting a shorter strut in LOL.

alright thanks for the advice about the strut. and my car does not have the es valence, its got the one like wnamane's car. ive seen his pics, and the rear of his car is not low enough for me, and neither is the front.

also any help on cutting the dead coils? Im completely lost when people are saying this. any picture or explanation will help.

              thanks

if your going to end up shorten the housing and not use the jom shock then whats the point of spending $400+ on them when you can just get CG. plus you don't have to remove the rear adjuster on the CG.

I did not shorten the housing, i just modified the sleeves. The JOMs won't allow you to shorten the housings either. I bought them with the original group buy when they were $380 and i sold the shocks for $150 so i really only ended up paying $230 for them. Thats about half the price of ground controls. But i have since moved on to my own line of coilovers.
