    How to reinforce rear shock mounts for true coilovers in the rear?

    So, ive been looking at getting a set of Gaz gold's but i realized that e30 has a separate spring perch from the shock mounts. how would somebody go about reinforcing the shock mount so it doesn't get a hole punched through it by the coilover springs??

    what is the easiest way to get-er-done?

      Tie the roll cage into the rear shock mounts. ;)

          roll cage was a little bit more then i was thinking.
          is there any way to do it with out needing an entire rollcage?

              Not that I could ever think of. Brace it to what? There isn't even anything to brace it to.

              You could probably get by with a welded four or five point rollbar.

                      You want to box in the upper strut mounts completely with some pretty decent metal, and get a weld-in strut brace between the two towers, tie it in to the trunk floor.

                      The stock upper mount area is pretty thin metal with a big hole in it for the RSM, that should be doubled up and secured down to the trunk floor and inner wheel wells.
