No PS after M50 swap with 98 M3 rack.

    While my engine was out...

I installed a 98 M3 rack with new inner and outer joints.
Original PS res from my M20 (~3 years old). Installed correctly on the e36 arm.
The engine has 102K on it (im assuming the same age on the pump).
The hoses are mismatched e30/e36 lines with no noticeable kinks in the lines.
    New ATF.
Turned the steering left to right a few times to bleed.

    No power steering!!! :hitler:

I have put ~30 miles on the car already with no signs of it getting better.
    No noises at all.
Res isnt full of bubbles and res is full.
    No leaks.
I verified my connecting lines with my buds 24V swap...same.

How can I diagnose to see if my PS pump has failed?
How can I diagnose to see if my rack is bad?
    Anything I am missing?

If there's nothing leaking from the lines or rack I'd bet on a bad pump.

There is a relief valve in the PS pump that can get stuck open.

You can take it apart and clean it, or bang on it. (kidding)

Any more info on this? Do I need to remove the pump to do this?

Just an update. It wound up being the ps pump. My plumbing was correct. Life is good. :)
