Tokicos are shit, and Bilsteins are still a bit underdampened for IE Stage III's. H&R Race from an M3 works on your car and they should run about $400 from shox.com.

      1. I never knew BMA sold IE products. If they do or don't, why don't you call them?
      2. H&R Race's are $399+. The IE's are similar, and if you don't want to pay for Konis then you may as well get the IE's (they're very, very similar).
      3. Get Konis.
      4. No.

What is it with all of the people lately arguing that Bilsteins are no good? Granted, if you are good enough to be able to make real, meaningful adjustments on the Konis and are tracking or auto-xing them, they have an advantage.

If you are not going to be adjusting, then why not the Bilsteins? 90% of the people here are NOT going to be taking advantage of the adjustability in any meaningful way, so why tell people not to get them?
They are a high quality product.

They're better in overall quality, but their damping and travel is just wrong. Too stiff on compression, too soft on rebound, too little travel. Konis are too soft on compression, but on rebound and travel they're set IMO.

And we are comparing this information from the factory specs vs factory specs, or riding on a track, or on the street?

"Tokicos are shit, and Bilsteins are still a bit underdampened for IE Stage III's. H&R Race from an M3 works on your car and they should run about $400 from shox.com."

Eh; I don't think they are under-dampered for the IE... remember Tj, running B.Sports with Gruppe N springs; and they are working well.

Try finding some used shocks... I bought my Bilstein Sports for $100 used (all four); just had to replace the dust caps... which was cheap...

You are trying to get this done for a track event?

Eitherway, if you can't afford suspension, spend the money elsewhere... unless your shocks are blown, the bushings gone...

It's not about the adjustability. Bilsteins lack the rebound for stiff springs... i.e. a bouncy ride.

Here is what to do. Contact Patrick from BMA and have him pricematch our 7% off discount from SEAM for your Stage IIIs and have him pricematch Pure-Motorsport.com for the Koni SAs. I actually contacted PM about getting a discount and they gave me an aditional $35 off so Patrick price matched that. I got Koni+IE and new strut mounts front and rear for around $820. Oh ya, and I recieved it all in 1 week!!!! I love the setup and I love BMA!

On a side note - Patrick told me that they can get anything for you they just have to price match. The reason to go through them instead of someone else....outstanding service. BMA's service is unbelievable. They are helpful when you contact them, don't try to screw you when selling you things (Patrick recomends cheaper parts sometimes becasue of past experiance), and they get you parts fast.

So what are the rates for the rebound, compression, travel limit?
                            What track?

Never saved them, got them from a Bilstein engineer (who worked in SA IIRC) who ironically convinced me to go with the Konis.

I'm not qualified to give in-depth track evaluations, but others I have spoken with are. Shannonville and Mosport.
