You preload the spring using the fully adjustable lower mount on the shock cartridge. We usually preload with about 5mm so the spring is super snug and wont move around or make any noises.

Damn. Thats a very short shock housing if you can remove what must be about 3-4" of slack. Very cool indeed.

called bc and nothing. left a message and still nothing. what size diameter are the springs that come with the bc coils? i bought the car with them already on. i'll just buy shorter and stiffer spring from ground control once i figure out the size diameter.

i want to keep the adjusters so i can still play with the ride height.

Why not measure it. It only takes 5 minutes to jack up the car and pop it out to measure it. They look like 2.5" springs. The shortest stiff spring (over 600) ground control has on their site is 6". Not nearly short enough for what you want. TCkline prings are 5" or 5.5" (i can't remember) and come in 600 and 700 as their stiffest springs. The beauty of the TCkline units is you can use the factory upper spring pad. Then there are Hypercoil 4" 600 springs. And last but not least GE 4.5" 650 springs which will be similiar to the TCkline in the way they retain the factory upper pad. People who want to go low with the TCkline often complain they have to use the springs with out the adjusters. Pretty expensive adjusters to just end up leaving them on your tool box.

would you recommend that GE spring? thanks for all the info and i agree, i took out the adjusters and it dumped the rear way lower than i wanted. it looked great but to even the drop the oil pan would be on the floor and i want to be able to adjust. i had to raise my car already to get towed a few months back.

It depends on what rates your looking for. How low are you actually trying to go?

about another inch or a tad lower in the rear. it's maxed out right now. on 16x9 10 offset wheels.

i like the height ryan is at with his e30. http://www.stanceworks.com/2011/07/21540/

The rear springs on my BC kit are 6 inch by 2.5 I.D. and are 14k or 756 lb/in. If you need anything else call me, and I'll see what I can do/get for you from BC.

I'm finally throwin on my bc's this weekend. I won't have the same wheel/stretch combo so hopefully they provide the low I'm looking for.

I saw you driving around the other day when i was surfin in dana. looked nice, made me wish I went with a different color 30.

also, if youre looking into springs, swifts are nice but take a while to get (waiting on 14/16ks for another car) or hypercoils which always seem to arrive quickly. just other options....

ps... if you just got some slightly wider tires, should fill up the gap nicely :)

Ryans car is not too low. I'm sure the TCklines will work out fine for your need. Unless your willing to wait a month for some GE springs and are ok with 650 springs. I also have some Hypercoil 4" 600 springs. On the highest setting they are about H&R sport height. Lowest setting is undrivable. But i'd also try giving ground control a call and see if they can offer you a spring 5" or so spring in the ates your looking for. I could have made an overseight on whats available.
