I work at napa auto parts, i was bored, and discovered that 1966-1977 vw bug front shocks work amazingly as rear shocks for us budget minded individuals with lowering springs. This is my first post ever

dude, great first post. Everyone is always looking for cheaper/more alternatives to expensive rear shocks.
Only problem I see is the actual weight of a bugs front end. The entire car weighs like 1600lbs with most of that weight on the rear.
How stiff are the shocks?

I would say a shock that is 3.25" shorter than stock is too short. The Eibach spring is no more than a 2" drop.Comment

Matt is right.
90% of shock absorbers have a "sweet spot". Using these shocks is putting the shock at the very top of its travel range. That may cause a problem.
I'd still be interested in trying them though lol.
Why don't you do some more investigation and see if there are any other shocks that would work for our applications but not be THAT much shorter. I'd say 2" is about the max you'd want the shock to be shorter than the stock shock.
