Andrew Sorry to hear about your R3v. I wouldnt run that tire. That doesnt look safe to me. Anything that took a hit like that and gouged out rubber like that surely damaged the tire internally. At least take it to an expert and get it checked

That seems super cheap, not sure of the quality for that many parts for such a cheap price...

Well Ive researched it, and have talked to a few people. The stuff is not pitiful by any means. It works. It will last atleast 15,000 miles which is fine.

Basically I pulled off the driver's side control arm today and the ball joints were fine. No noise, easy movement of them.

I dont track my car, so good ball joints aren't crucial. I think these groton pieces are perfect for me. If they fail early, Ill bitch to them and use their lifetime warranty.

If they fail at 20,000 miles. Well shit Ill buy Lemfoerder that time

Losing a ball joint at 60 mph on the highway sucks just as much as losing one at 60mph on a track. I'm not saying that those ball joints are prone to break randomly or anything, but personally if I wouldn't track it, I wouldn't drive on it. Seems they do have a good warranty so if the reviews are good on them it wouldn't be a bad deal, I've just moved more toward the attitude of getting the best stuff within reason if you're going to be replacing something.

A ball joint doesnt blow up. It gives signs that it is ready to go first

Other people have been running the kit for years and report no problems. I will write a review on it when I receive it.

It might cost more to have lemforder ball joints pressed in than buying new control arms

Well I have been reading tons on the FCP suspension components today and yesterday.

I am going to buy them.

Their vendor on bimmerforums is an honest guy, and as a company they seem to be great. He takes pictures of their units versus Lemforder and others to show the differences. They stand behind their products, and that is what matters.

They would not be active with the enthusiast community that calls their stuff "junk" if they know it is junk.

how can you say your control arm help up surprisingly well when its shaped like the letter you now. you need a control arm more than you need any other part. i highly doubt you messed up the spindle at all. go look at your left and right control arm right now so you can see the difference
