Which way to go...BC or GC?????

Getting to suspension at this point of the build. I had my heart set on GC coilover system but someone put me on to BC coils. They look good and reviews are also good. Its just modifications needed fro the BC that has me thinking.
Give your feedback on which way to go. Thanks.

Suggest driving two cars that have them installed and then make your decision.

Im running GC and I love them. Super stiff for daily driving but Ive dealt with it for a year.

But ride quality is all based on opinion so whats important is quality after seeing what can happen when a strut isnt properly welded to the base or whatever its called.

Im pretty sure it was r3v OG danny who had one fail

I am running TMS J Stock on one the other is H&R Coil Over'd. Brian is on GC's and I'm sure that there is someone in our greater area that is on a BC setup since some many sets were sold in the three GB's.

I am running BC's and I love them. I've driven an e30 with GC's and I loved them for the few minutes I drove the car.

For BC's, modification to the strut housing isn't difficult at all. I personally like the BC's because you can adjust the length of the shock by threading it into the housing.

When are you planning on buying? Ive gotta take a trip up to halifax ma in the next monthb or two. Got bc and love em.

Considering the distance prob would be easier to meet you on my drive up.

I thought you had to weld the strut housing to the knuckle??? That to me has to be some serious work??? Not that im scared of work..just not good at welding. LOL.

I vote GC, mainly because they are built by a group of enthusiasts, made with all high quality parts and have great customer support.

I have BC's on my e39, and although they ride great, they're still a Taiwanese made kit with in-house shocks rather than the Koni's that GC uses. And good luck trying to get a hold of BC themselves, the best you can do is get in touch with one of their retailers that know only as much as we do.

Bc is better because of true coilover

Bc because you don't lose struts travel like gc.

GC doesn't lose strut travel either. That's the whole point of having shorter bodied shocks.

                              OP:

Both are respectable companies. I chose GC for their community support, and because they have some E30 guys who are happy to field your questions. I haven't had any complaints about the ride quality, nor the part quality.

Danny's strut breaking was completely unrelated to the modifications the GCs require. It broke at a 20 year old weld, and he isn't the only one who has had that point fail.
