TIE ROD 32111125186 not correct for 4/90 ic?

BMW sold me the above tierod found on this page:

    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...25&hg=32&fg=25

The body shop said it didn't fit and that the end that connects to the strut on the opposite side of the accident (left) was bent so they unscrewed the end & used it. Today I took the car to be aligned & the strut bearings to be replaced and they said it couldn't be aligned because the right tierod had too much play.

I took the new middle part (between the rack & the end) to the shop and asked if they thought it in conjunction with the unbroken right end could be used and they said they thought so.

The body shop said the problem was the thread pitch on the threaded part that goes into the rack. Does this make any sense? Woluld BMW use different thread pitches?

How did the tie rod I got from BMA work no problem without the vin and BMW sent the wrong one (with the same pn) on realoem.com with the vin?

    Thanks

Just got back from the shop. They took it off and I'll be damnd but it looked like a wider pitch, but it went right on. It is lucky because the left side's end was bent and was used there so had they not made this mistake I would need to buy another tie rod. This way one fixed both sides.

          Thanks Ken!
