    Sitting high for IE stg3

Hey guys, just looking for opinions. This is my 2nd e30, first was 1989 325is which i did eibach springs.

Attached is my recent 91 318is. These are IE stage 3 springs, bils sports and i'm sitting what seems to be high up front. I do have IE street camber plates but that may lift 5mm.

I can reach my hand in above the tire and notice there really isn't much room for spring compression. Think its high.. or am i? hah also the car has been driven around the block a bit and has been sitting on the ground for about a week.
    Thanks. Zach

Its because you have a 318is which sits higher do to weight. You have to cut one coil for it to sit correct. The rear is ok once you cut that coil it will look sweet ride height wise.

I'm surprised the 318 is that much lighter to make such a difference.

263 lb difference in curb weight. 318is-325is. Is this what other late 318is owners ran into?

Are you running the stock pads too? The pads and camber plates are putting you about 1/2" higher than it could be. It's pretty common to cut a coil off these in the front, even guys with 6 cylinder cars do it.

Must be an IE thing, I had to cut a coil off the front of my 2002's springs. I'm just worried about not having enough travel out of my front suspension.

hmmm, does look like its sitting mega high even for a 318is... This is my m50 325i on the same setup (IE s3/billy sport) with stock rear spring pads and upper spring pad in the front, no lower and no camber plates:

Tires are 195/50R16 front and 225/45R16 rear

Cut a coil off up front, IE3s are notorious for reverse rake.

no cut coil on my setup, only thing that helps me is the heavier M50 at the front of it

Its the Car no spring. Cause I can show you IE's on 325 no reverse rake like some say. As we may all know they fit the 318 models but weight is a factor. Another example is verts one has to put pads in rear again do to weight not springs to raise the car.
