Alignment specs help

Hey guys,

Running some custom springs on Bilstein shocks, I've got GC camber plates, BBS Style 5's from the E28, and I'd like to switch from my current 215/45/16 Falken Azeni RT-615's to some 225/50/16 Hankook Ventus V12's... so I'll need a bit more camber perhaps.

The car is mostly daily driven, gets some track time. What are some good alignment specs for daily driving that won't cause the new tires to rub? I can post pics if it helps, not sure of current alignment specs.

Please don't put 225/50 on there, it's way too tall. 225/45 is the correct size.

Yes this. Keep the OD 23.9 inches or so.

Camber is not as bad a tire wear item as toe. I DD on -3 front and rear. Though I am on 15s

There are no good tires in that size for 16" according to TireRack. :(

There are almost NO good tires in 215/45/16 or 225/45/16. Only 225/50/16 has good tires. :\ No wonder people want to 5-lug convert for 17's...

You could always go 205/50/16, a lot more in that size and it's the correct diameter.

So why won't 225/50 work for me? Worst case scenario, it makes my gearing taller... which I need, as I'm running an S50 and I plan to supercharge soon. So longer than 2.93final drive is cool woth me.

I might just have to sell my rims and convert to 5 lug huh?

It's too tall! The main reason I am against it is it will look bad, another reason is you may have rubbing issues. You shouldn't need longer gearing than a 2.93 even with boost.

If you want performance go with 15's,if its all show than tire choice doesn't matter and you can run whatever on 16's or if its kinda show/performance than go to a 17 as the choices for good rubber are much better.
I prefer the look of 16's but I'm also fed up trying to find a decent tire,I'm looking at 17" options to run 235-40's.

Ahhh, yeah. I love my rims (16x8 Style 5's) but 16" tires are bogus. The car is mostly performance but I need some show too... but really, I need wider tires/more grip 'cause with a supercharger it's going to be hard maintaining traction.

I may have to switch to 15's with 225's or 17's with 235/245 all around...

Are those grippy enough for the torque I'm putting out? I was also looking at 215/45/16 Kumho Ecsta XS or 205/50/16 Federal 595RSR.

I just don't want to go with something that will not let me get traction during spirited driving... is 205mm wide enough if it's on sticky compound like the 595RSR's?

Why not go with a 225/45/16 Falken FK452? I have them and like them a lot.

Tires and wheels(even for fakes) look great on your car, only thing is you have too much rake in the front.

Here is my setup OP:

GC coilovers, GC e28 race camber plates(12mm gained drop over stock hats), Shortened housings by 1" and made custom perches to allow the adjuster nut to spin beyond for more drop. Koni valved inserts. On Rota Slips 16x8 et20, Nexxen CP641 225/50/16.

There is nothing wrong with 225/50 I think if you're not able to close up the wheel gap, you should not run shorter tires. Post up some pics of you car with the current setup. I am able to close up any amount of gap I wish with my suspension, but it all depends on what your running.

I personally think your car will look amazing with 225/50/16 all around. I highly recommend these tires I have on. Only 106-115 per tire =)
