Nothing, most are like this, do you have a pic? Never cut or especially heat springs, its an ancient black art.

Maybe if anything, remove the rear (rubber) spring pads.

It does help with REVERSE rake created from IE3 springs on late models. I ran this setup...

post the pictures of how the car sits now.
May be your car already has "stance" and needs nothing for that perfect drop.

DO NOT CUT OR HEAT YOUR REAR SPRINGS. Seriously, don't.

The shocks have nothing to do with the springs. If you want to know what the springs are you need to get the PART NUMBERS from them. Also, there are no "camber plates" for the rear of an E30. The only way to make the rear camber adjustable is to weld tabs to the subframe where the trailing arm mounts.

If you don't like the way the car sits, get new springs.

i looked in the back where the shock seats and it looks like it there is a something weird there. can this be camber plates? but my car isn't camber in the back too much. the shocks are sachs if that helps

Look at the part numbers and post them here. Or, jack up the car until the wheel is off the ground, reach in, and see if the spring is loose. H&R Race springs are so short that with the shock extended, the spring is not under compression. H&R Sport springs are longer and are always under compression when installed in the strut assembly, so you won't be able to move it around at all.

The amount of drop a spring is advertised to give is only an estimate.

I'd be getting a set of matching springs if I were you.
