    Why?

    Why cut your springs?
Why would you cut a hole in your stock headers to fit the JOM Coilovers?
Why lower your car if you cant do it safely?
Why are there so many idiots?

Just curious why people do the above? Suspension is made/ engineered for your safety/performance. When you alter the spring(s) from a OEM spring it then changes the dynamics of the suspension support and travel.

It is the new age of "ricing-out" a car. The end goal is to achieve looks and proportions that mimic an actual racing car. In years past this was primarily done with outrageous bodywork, tall wings, and narrow profile tires like a Touring car has. The proportions of "stanced" cars do exactly the same thing as ye olde "ricers" of the 90's. It is the attempt to make their car look high performance by actually decreasing its performance.

It really isn't much of a safety concern though as most of these cars spend their time rolling at steady state in a straight line or parked in a parking lot for photo shoots. Large steering angles are only encountered at <1mph when avoiding oil-pan damage as their vehicles are cautiously navigated over treacherous obstacles such as parking lot entryways and leaves.
