Any difference between right and left tie rods?

Parts store says $25 for left and $44 for right outers. Seems like they should be the same thing? Maybe I should just order the "left" in place of the "right," or are they indeed different?

They are same left and right.

e30 tie rods are identical from side to side whereas the e36 are left and right. They are also stronger, cheaper & work fine in an e30 as long as you replace inner and outer together. I bought lemfoerder e36 tie rods (inner and outer) for $47/side so $45 for the just the e30 outers sounds out of line.
