    h&r e46 springs on e30?

I know the the coil windings and spring rates are different but would they fit and lower the car evenly?

Try it and let us know. You kind of answered your own question. Nothing is the same so chances are that it won't be a perfect fit.

I believe the diameter of the springs is wrong.

E36 M3 springs will work though.

Just bought the e46 springs because they were dirt cheap. It looks like the back springs will fit but the fronts are a little different diameter at the top and bottom.

Looks like the front springs will not work. The coil windings at the top are too big and at the bottom their too small.

Especially if you like the 4x4 look. Have you actually put E36 M3 springs in? A particularly doofy buddy of mine was SURE it would be an improvement, "becuz M car."

              Disaster. So tall.

We actually installed some on Polak's car and they fit and looked great. We used some e36 sport springs and they felt nice.

I don't recommend doing what im about to recommend that you do.
Heat up the top coil and twist inwards making it smaller so it fits. Do the same with the bottom going but make it bigger. Also, try flipping the spring upside down.
