    Quick question to get lower

So I've got JOM's currently and the fronts just don't go as low as I thought.
When adjusting these get in the way and I feel like it's blocking me from a few more threads. Should I cut them like this guy did to go lower & will this effect anything?

I don't think that will make the JOMs go lower. I think that the lower perch is cut off for easy access to the adjuster.

youll get MAYBE a half inch lower. You should have cut those off before you installed the coils anyway.

Do what he did in the pic, then cut the top off your collar, so the adjuster is just a tube without a stop on the end. Then put it down on the strut tube so it sits on the weld for the original spring perch. That will go absolutely stupidly lower than you could ever possibly even think about driving.

Having a hard time conceptualizing what you just said.
PS - I see you all over the forums like it's your job. Seriously appreciate the detailed response but if you could some how reiterate what you said I'll get it done this weekend. I'm not as mechanically gifted as many of you so I'm not too sure how to get the coilover off the car (I didn't install them)

Er, thats how my GC setup is and I'm all the way down. So no, it won't get very low just doing that.

              Go here be happy!

Your GC may be different (spring length and stuff). If I did that my oil pan would literally be sitting on the ground, and I'm on JOMs.

OP: brb lemme try to find pics. I think einstein57 did this.

                EDIT: Here you go
                ******WARNING******
For those of you just now reading, this is not the standard setup.
                Cut perches
Modified sleeves (still have 3/4" left)
Cut 2/3 off the billie sport bump stops
No rear adjuster or bottom spring pad
Tucking front and rear tire on 195/60/14

Hmmmm that's an interesting way to do it. I think I'll try getting an E90 drop hat, and apparently it'll get me 3/8" - 1/2" drop, if that still doesn't look the way I want it to, then I'll modify that. Thanks again Vivek

Cutting the stock perch will get you lower but its jot going to slam you by any means.

You'll be low, just not oil pan on the ground low. To go that low, you'll need to section your housings and get short body struts.

Vivek- it doesn't matter how short of a spring you run up front, with stock struts/housings, you absolutely cannot put your pan on the ground. Even with GC plates, cut bumpstops and a 6inch spring, I still wasn't slammed. My pan at that point, with 16" wheels and 205/40s, was probably 2 inches from the ground. Maybe a little more.

Now with my short bodies, GC plates, cut bumpstops, 6inch springs and 17s, my skid plate is right at 1" from plate to ground.
