    This One Nut is Asshole

I apologize for the profanity R3v.
    Shame on me.
    ;)

I'm trying to figure out what to do about this one nut. When I finished replacing my control arms I was not able to tighten it all the way. Still not sure why. I wrenched it as hard as I could, but I always saw a small gap between the nut and the control arm. Wrong nut?

So I decided to take it out and try another nut. Or to see what's the condition of the thread lines. Now it will not come out. It just spins and spins.

Last resort would be to tighten it back up and drive to a shop.

Sounds like it's stripped. When I replaced my control arms, that nut and the bracket for the sway bar end link came attached, so I didn't have to fuck with it.

Try applying downward pressure on the nut as you loosen it. Put a screwdriver or pry bar in there. That helped me when my motor mount nut was stripped.

Or, you may need to dremel the nut in half and use a new one.

Use a nut splitter to get the nut off, then you can examine the threads of the stud. You may wind up having to replace the bracket.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

          Bummer.
Can the bracket be purchased by itself?

It looks like you were re-using the old bracket so its quite possible that the tack weld that holds that bolt to the bracket has broken and the bolt is turning at the bottom of the u bracket. It has a thin flat round head so not sure how you would grab it other than by flatting out the U part and trying to get avice grip around the head..or torching it off.

Try wedging something in between the control arm and the bracket your trying to attach, that might create some tension so the bolt and nut wont spin together.

That looks like a control arm outer tierod nut, which is M10x1.25 vs. the M10x1.5 that the bracket is.

I'm missing something here. That the sway bar link bracket. Its an $8 part that is either stripped or has separated. Get rid of it and replace it.
