e36 steering rack with e30 tie rods ?

what i have is my stock OEM perfect steering rack/
and
an 95 e36 m3 rack with one inner tie rod.

can i swap in my oem inner and outer (e30) tie rods onto the e36 core rack ?

You can in fact run E30 tie rods, though E36 tie rods are beefier.

You can run E30 or E36 tie rods as Alex so eloquently explained. Whichever you choose need to match, as in e30 inners and outers OR e36 inners and outers.

This is correct. I have 1 rack swapped car running my old e30 tie rod assemblies and the other rack swapped car has new Lemfoerder e36 tie rod assemblies. Not only are the e36 assemblies beefier, they were actually cheaper. Keep in my e36 tie rods come in L & R.

FYI the reason you cant mix and match is that the male thread on the e36 is the inner whereas on the e30 its the outer that is male
