    Z3 Steering Rack Issue

So here is a pick of my Z3 steering rack with the e30 tie rods installed.

So when I went to install it in my chassis it seemed like the rack was to long when straightend out. Meaning that if I bolted up the tie rods to the struts tubes the wheels would be turned out. The only thing I can think of is the tie rods and boots are supposed to be bent forward a bit. Sorry for the questions its been a long day and im BRAIN DEAD. Thanks!

the rack should be 22 3/4 inches long and each tie rod should be 15 1/2 measuring from where it butts to the rack end to the centre bottom of the ball joint. Do this with it all assembled and laying straight.

Thanks for the info guys. We ended up assembling the struts wrong. The caps that bolt on the bottom of the struts were swapped so that they were inward instead of outward. We swapped caps and the steering rack/rods fit perfect.
