Steering rack with torn dust boots?

Hey I'm looking to pick up a z3 steering rack, and found a good deal on one but the guy says it has bad boots, but good tie rods. Would that be a dumb move to pick this thing up and replace the boots?

If its not already leaking, yes. Caution, just because its not leaking when drained, does not mean it won't leak under pressure. So buying a used rack is always a risk unless you know of the previous car's history.
