    Busted my sway bar mounts

Apparently im some kinda bad ass
Im on stock springs, all season tires. Car is an 87 vert; I did install a Ireland strut bar and im thinking this put more stress on the bigger vert sway?
    thoughts?

Common problem with larger bars. Need to buy some reinforcement plates.

Been there before. I was on stock springs, and had stock sway bars. I just swapped in a new, to me, subframe. The main reason mine went was rust. Even the tiniest bit of rust on an already thin and weak point spells disaster.
Hope you are able to fix it without too much of a hassle.

Welcome to the party, same thing happened on both sides to mine with stock springs, stock sways, stock everything.

I am contemplating how to fix it. Ireland engineering has this:

I have a welder and the old tabs that broke off, however I am doubting how clean of a job I can do being upside down with the subframe still on the car. I sure as shit dont want to drop the subframe since then I will need to realign it.

What to do, what to do.

Why would they not fit verts? There's a big "other size" blank box.

Its a choice of 19 mm or 22 mm with itelands kit. The vert is 21 mm. Buy the 19 and ream out the bushings. Real easy to do! Such a better design! DOOOOO IT Click image for larger version

I thought the point of that Ireland engineering mount was that you could eliminate the need for the tab because the plate is secured to the subframe.

It eliminates the tab from the mount not the subframe. My picture above shows the original mount being used as well as the subframe bolt.

The tab thats removed is similar to these e39 brackets. those can bend and pop out since theyre secured from only one side (the part thats missing from your subframe
