Every time I hit any type of bump, my car's rear end shimmys to the right. It happened so violently on the freeway that my car went completely sideways around a corner after hitting a bump. Does this sound like a blown shock? they are bilstein sports with only about 10k miles on them and I have h&r sport springs. A ripped mount? The mounts don't look great, but dont seem to be wrecked. I haven't had time to get under and examine.
blow shock?

Not to be a dick, but couldn't you just check if the shock is blown? Unbolt the 19mm at the bottom and see if it feels normal. If it's too easy to compress and/or doesn't rebound, then it's blown. The first car I ever rode in was an e30

I was doing 65 around a corner and free hitting the bumps, the car just started sliding sideways. I don't drive poorly. I regained control relatively quickly as wellComment

Blown shocks would in no way cause this. Something is either very wrong with your suspension, or it was driver error.
Honestly, the latter is much more likely.Comment

For you to lose grip like that, you hit the bumpstops. Wheel rate shot to infinity, the tires were overloaded, and you spun. Blown shocks wouldn't cause this, but good shocks would have helped. Probably from being too low on too-soft springs.1991 318i SOLD

I am on billy sports and h&r sports. The issue was that my rear passenger shock had blown through the rsm, so when I hit the bumps, that wheel was probably not actually touching the ground.
