    Suspension Clunk

    Hey guys,

I've JOM's and a clunk noise haha...probably go hand in hand. But a better coilover setup is hopefully in my near future.

I know my first mistake was buying JOM's. Although I don't really regret it since they are decent for what I paid and were in my budget.

However...When I make a left turn (transferring the weight to the right of the car) the left side has a clunk (almost as if something 'un-clicks') and then when I straighten back out (evening out the weight to both sides) it clunks back into place. Also...if I hit a dip in the road (a dip thats on the left side) thus the left side suspension drops a bit, it does it as well. So anytime the left shock/spring is extended (not sure what the right word is - opposite of compressed) it makes a clunk and then when it is compressed again it clunks back.

Could it be the threads on the adjuster or into the strut being worn out? Or swaybar endlinks?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Could be strut insert, those like to loosen up. I've had that happen before.

    Could be worn strut bearing.

You have the right ideas, now dig in and start wrenching to find out.

90% sure it's your top nut. Same thing happened when we did by buddy's install (JOM's); tighten it when it's on the ground with a deep socket and get some vice grips around the strut shaft(???) to stop it from just spinning around. Might require 2 people

It may also be the gland nut that holds the shock insert in. Mine did that on the same side and that's what I assumed it was...never actually looked into it before I sold them.
