    Koni Adjustment Settings Question

I just purchased a set of Koni (yellows) adjustable shocks. I am planning on running them with either the H&R lowering springs (1.3" drop front 1.2" drop rear) or the Dinan lowering springs (3/4" drop front and rear). I wanted to know what settings people are running with these shocks. Especially the rear since you have to take apart the strut assembly to adjust the rears. I would like to dial the right setting when installing the rears. The car won't be tracked or auto-x. It will be used for spirited daily driving.
    Thanks.

FWIW, I'm running GC 750# rear springs and I have mine Konis set to half-stiff. So, 2.5 rotations of the 5 allowed. It's recommended that you install them at soft and test drive the car, then remove the shocks and adjust if you feel it's necessary. For a street driven car, the answer to your question is purely subjective and there is no correct answer.

Koni's web site gives you instructions on how to adjust the shocks. It should only take about 20 min to remove and adjust the rears and test drive again.

it take me 20 minutes just to fish that bump stop out of the rear shock. what a pain that is, all this technology you'd think they could just put an adjustment knob on the bottom of the shock and make life easy

H&R Sports are what I have. 2 turns in front. Full soft in rear. Comfy, and the softer rear makes for better traction. If you want to hang the tail out, tighten them up.

yay i just got a set too. Is there more to it then unbolting the shock from the TA, then pushingit up and turning it?

yes, there is more to it than that. You have to remove the bump stop and plastic ring on the bottom of the shock in order to compress it far enough to be able to adjust. I set mine to full stiff for now, we'll see what happens in terms of traction, I don't want too much squat with my s50.

does that mean the stock bump stops dont need to be used?

it wont help much with squat because its rebound adjustable.

damn that's true, oh well, I'll try it at full stiff anyway for a while.

for the first 500 miles you should drive them at full soft to break them in, and then crank them up as you desire.

You can get the rears with a top adjustable knob, I have them they are from ground control.

did your shocks come valved for that stiff of a spring?.... i have the 475's in the back of my car and on full stiff it is borderline oversprung.
