I know stiffer is not better but I have wheels with bad offset and they rub so I want to either stiffen up the rear instead of flares. Tokicos worked great on my ITC Datsun 510 for over three years.

Wouldn't stiff springs help with that problem?

I don't know how stiff shocks effect soft springs (I've never tried it), but it wouldn't seem to overcome a ride height problem.

it wouldn't raise the car, it would keep the car at the same height, and the tires just wouldn't rub because the car wouldn't squat down in the rear as much with stiffer shocks.

What wheel/tire combo are you running, and what offset are your wheels?

Not true, stiffer shocks will just react slower with stiffer bump and/or rebound.

But if you have stiffer shocks then you can run stiffer springs which make the suspension compress less for a given load (bump) which will reduce rubbage.
But if you hit a big enough bump they will always rub!!

I presume the arches are already rolled & pulled if you are thinking about flares!?!?!

yes they have been pulled and rolled, the only other thing would be to stretch the tires, which would be horrible so.... But I have a set of BMP/IE's bubble flares.

Funny thing is, in some circles, konis and bilsteins are considered garbage.

Not to say i disagree with you, J. I have not heard much good about Tokicos in an e30 application. I know some Toyota and other people swear by them.

How does good for a certain car mean good for another? I had Tokico on my 300 ZX and I hated them, they had been suggested by my mechanic (who I spent a fortune with) He replaced them (free for the differance in price) as he wanted to keep my future business, with Konis.

You can't just change one part and expect good results. You need to get springs/shocks made to work together for the purpose you need to fulfill.

Seems to me you need different rims/tires not springs/shocks.
