Oil in the strut tube for Bilstein Sports?

Hey folks. Pelican instructions specify to drain the oil from the strut tube and absolutely not put any oil back in there in the event of a bilstein sports (or any gas shocks for that matter) installation. Others have suggested some ATF oil (about 30ml). What is the proper way to go about this? The car will be driven in the street as a daily driver if that makes a difference.

No oil with gas shocks and Bilstein's are inverted anyway.
