    Inner Tie Rods are different

The non power racks use a 'booted' inner tie rod on the left side and a regular non booted one on the right. Not sure of the purpoase of it but they are differnent.

My manual rack didn't come with tie rods, but my power tie rods seem to be working fine with my non-power rack...aligned just fine...go figure. :?

        This crap's expensive

        euro manual rack-remanu 238$
        linkage 157$
        non-srs steering column 130$

total 525$ unless i find some used stuff, im sure i can find a used non-srs steering column for much less, but the other stuff namely the linkage seems hard to come by used.

prices from dealership with bmwcca discount, comes out to less than bma and other such places

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

yeah I'm parting 2 car (thread in FS section) Both are non SRS column's. I may be using 1 as I'm doing a z3 rack in mine ;)

i want to put the z3 rack in my car, but what do i need to buy with the rack and pinion? does anyone have an extra piece that goes on the steering shaft after u cut or have one for sale? oh and another question, when i do this, can i have the steering column moved down a little or does it stay in the same position?
