    Replace Just CABs

What's involved in changing just my CABs and lollipops? Just got my Condor Delrin w/ lollies.

I think I can do it by lifting, unbolting, replacing the lollies, re-bolt, torque, and let sit for 30 mins. Am I right? Bentley is vague, so I came to the source...

The purpose in getting the car on the ground asap is that the CAB's will "bite" the CA once the lube is dried and you do not want that to happen without normal loading on the suspension. Otherwise, you will preload your CAB which will significantly shorten its life.

There are some good ways to get the CAB on as mentioned. I've used brute force, a puller & even a little heat on the CA. What worked best for me was to install the inner ball joint, swivel the CA so you can get the CAB on by whatever method. Then pivot it to install the lollipop & outer ball joint, install the wheel then drop that side of the car. Should not take more than 10-15 minutes at that point.

I would also STRONGLY encourage you to get an M12x1.5 tap to chase the threads where the lollipops bolt to the chassis. These threads do get galled and snapping one of these off is not pretty. The tap cost me $5 at Grainger.

Just did mine with the Condor ones, very easy job, took me about an hour taking my time and cleaning the Control arm surface. only thing I did was unbolt the lollipops, beat the piss out of them to get them off and then cleaned up the bolts chased them through the holes on the car. after that got some dish soap and water to lube up the surface and then used a large mallet. (assuming you purchased the offset M3 ones) they are very sturdy and took up the force of the mallet. once I got it in place bolted it back up and dropped it, I have had them on now for around 3 months great product!

Awesome thanks! You use any other sealing product to glue them on? I know there's some special shit BMW wants you to use, I feel like because of the rubber ones.

The stuff BMW wants you to use is a lube that will dry so you dont have any sort of grease once they are on. You want them to be dry once they are on there so there is no play or grease to attract anything unwanted. I just used simple hand soap and water it dries in like 5 mins and I have had ZERO issues. when you 1st go to put the Condor ones they feel like they dont want to go on or the hole is too small. its not, give it a love tap to seat it on the control arm, once it is seated give her some and it will just slide on if you have properly lubed it.
