I am a certified alignment tech and doing it on your garage floor isnt going to cut it. Spend the money and take it to get lined up. If you know what specs you want ask to speak to the mechnanic about how you want it setup.

Setting front toe to an acceptable degree of accuracy isn't too difficult with a pair of toe plates and a tape measure. That does take a good bit of effort and you have to be careful not to wind up with the steering wheel off center. You can do a better job with strings, but that is also a good deal of work.
If the car has rear camber/toe adjusters strings are the only way. And you have to have a camber gauge and be working on a very level surface, or take the slope of the surface into account (and be able to accurately measure it).
Unless you have a set of turn-n-slide plates, after every adjustment the car has to be rolled forward and backward about one turn of the wheels to get rid of distortion in the tires from the adjustment or from raising/lowering the car.
Alignment on a rack is far better and doesn't have any of the problems a DIY alignment has. And unless you are using strings and a camber gauge you need to car on a rack to know if there are camber or rear toe errors from damage or wear, or to set those if adjusters have been added to the car.
Compared to the cost of a set of tires, an alignment is really cheap. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

can someone give me some measurements to use...I have H&R races with billy sports and rear adjustable subframe...I had it aligned before but my tires are getting eaten on the passenger side rear, it wears like it has to much neg camber, but that measurement came back alrite on the first go round. I will be changing tie rods so I'm going to get a front end alignment and I want to at least see what the readings are for the rears so I can adjust accordingly.1991 318is --- currently not road worthy

I had excactly the same problem on my car. As it turned out, the issue was worn out rear subframe bushings.
