      Yeah, you gain space.

I don't see how you gain clearance? In fact if you actually weld the perch in a place low enough to give full adjustment you do infact lose some.

I know with mine, wheels contact the strut tube a few inches below the perch.

If you shorten the tube that much, then yeah, I guess it could reduce clearance. But it's really not a good idea (or necessary for that matter) to chop off that much for street use, IMO.

well i am goign to have to chop off some strut tube, but i was wondering how much space i might need. I doubt i'll ever get low enough for it to matter though. especially on an ix.

cool so i can rock stock offset. i sort of though that it would work out okay considering i am not trying to get that low. Infact not much lower than now but adjustment would rock.

the perch is welded on right above the seem for the old perch (unless you cut the housings down) it should be about the same clearance at the perch, and more clearnace above due to the adjustable collar and the smaller diameter spring. Above the perch should not be an issue if you haven't shorted the housings because it is located above where the top of an OEM rolling diameter sized tire
