ready to spring for a set H&R Sport springs, but wondering whether the 50404 (specified for my 91 318i) or the 29664 (for the 84-85 M10 318i) is best if I want a bit more drop and stiffer. I read here on the forums that the 29664 has a slightly higher rate. The H&R application chart says the 29664 is 0.1" lower, but I suspect it will be more than that since the M42 cars are a tad heavier. I've also read that the 50404 is not as low as stated on the M42 cars and to convoluted things I read that, 50404-55 (325 OE Sport) is sent even if you order the 50404, which makes no senses at all.
Regardless the 29664 sounds like what I'm looking for, but am I overlooking something negative about the 29664?
I know there is also a 50404-77 which is their Super Sport (is that same as Race?) which is stated to be a 1.7" drop (vs. 1.3" for 29664) and therefore not a big difference, but I don't want to have to worry about my low oil pan w/o skid plate, or will I have to w/ the Sport spring and stock ht tires???
Thanks for the advice.
Also curious whether anyone is running Bilstein Tourings with H&R Sport springs? I'm planning on going with Billy Sports, but like comfy rides. Car will only see occassional track and 8/10 street driving. E46 w/ ProKit and Billy Sports is a tad stiff for DD, so don't want to repeat that ride. On other cars, Billy Sports were perfect for me. PSS, underdampened in a different car, so hard to guess what Billy Sports are like in the E30.
