i swear if E30's are anything like the datsun truck these will be around for ever even if you have it strapped to the top of a building " Top Gear" and they still start

To an extent. As long as the TB doesn't go out, an m20 will take a lot of negligence/abuse.

2.7i swap first. It'll be worth the minimal investment.

whats a good form, or parts list for the swap. I just ran across a hot deal on an i engine and its comp if i need it.

Easiest way to go about it is to build it at the junk yard. Find an 88 528e at the yard and take out the block. Grab an "i" head, oil pan, wiring harness, DME, and coolant cross pipe from a 325i. Bolt it together and bring it to the counter. Should not cost more then $200. Then you can take your time going through it replacing seals and what not with out having to rush it. You can drop in your freshly detailed and assembled motor all in one day. Then add boost

Hahaha, what makes you think you need something with over 30 clicks of adjustment? The only shocks I would bother with that have that kind of adjustment are Ohlins, and they will cost you about 2 E30s. Nice S52 swapped E30s.

Not sure how many clicks these have but they are only about $600 for the pair.

And FYI. The best dampers in the suspension world don't even have "clicks".

12 compression, rebound is like 2.5 revolutions - no "clicks". I think these are the ones I have in my car

OP you may want to research Gaz coilover (UK manufacturer). They make several versions (street - trackday enthusiast - race). I personally ran the race set up with coilover rear setup and m3 tabs on mine. Previously you used to have to send in your old strut to have them modified. Now I think you can just pay a core charge. In a nutshell they come ready to install.

That adjuster is really weird on the front... and I certainly wouldn't use the OEM style rear shock mount, but if it worked for you then great! I have heard good things about Gaz from European fellows.

The adjuster is actually easy to get to. You get used to it.

The pic of the e30 m3 is just some pic I got off the net. I personally used their spherical bearing shock mount nd Ground Control race camber plates.

Yeah it seems like its in a good location, just never seen it there before! And that makes sense... I was under the assumption you were using a stock rubber rear mount and not a solid one. Nevermind! haha
