suspension refurb questions - please help

ok guys, I currently have a ground control coilover setup installed by my PO. It is the basic gc coil kit. The rates are 6" 525 pound in front and 5" 750 pound on the rear. I think the shocks are probably about done, the springs are way to stiff. I dont think it has bump stops installed. It does have camber plates. The springs are the narrow springs, and the hats have been replaced and are too small(diameter size) for stock spring sizes.

Anyway, bottom line is i want to refurb my whole suspension. I really need to soften the setup. What i would like is to use H&R sport springs + bilstein sport shocks. But i know i cant currently use HRsports because my current hats are too small.

Does anyone have a list of components to replace in this scenario. Necessary stuff and 'while your in there' kind of things. I was thinking springs, shocks, Front and rear shock/strut mounts with reinforcement plates, front shock hats (but i have no idea what to use) differential bushing... What else?

I apologize for the sloppy post, I'm on lunch and trying to hurry. Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Well if the guy who installed the GCs did it right, you're gonna need new strut housings. So strut housings, dampers, and new top hats (stock or drop hats) is what you'll need for the front along with the springs of your choice. While you're in there you'll probably want to do CABs, control arms, and tie rods. For the rear it's a lot easier, all you really need a springs and shocks. If you want to do your rear bushings (diff, subframe, trailing arms) you can. If they're original you might as well do it, if they've been replaced before it may not be necessary.

I don't think the strut housings are modified. I've found the po didn't always get past "that's good enough"

Has anyone tried one of pelican parts complete packages?

Swap the springs for ones with lower rates.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Koni, in my opinion, is a far nicer ridding shock then the BS sport. Get your shocks rebuilt by koni and get softer springs from GC. Pics of what your setup looks like would help. Are your shocks adjustable's?

Simple idea. Thinking that the Bilstein's are probably just fine since they have internal bump stops.

Bingo. You've got all the good parts already... Use them.

I run 440/650 spring rates on a GC kit with konis and it's very livable as a DD. Firm but not harsh or jarring.

This would be the cheaper way to go. I would give GC a call and tell them what you have, and what you are looking for.

Thanks for the advice. I've been in contact with ground control but the lowest rates for my particular setup is f400 r600. Personally, not low enough for what I'm looking for. the gf and i tired of getting jarred around.I decided to ditch coil overs all together. So ill have some stuff for sale soon. The gc camber plates/hats are to small for standard spring diameter.

The route I chose was pelican parts:

                  H&R sport springs
New front shock mounts / hats/ pads/ bump stops /hardware
                  Rear spring pads
Front/rear sway bar bushings and end links

My current shocks are bilstiens sports, so that worked out
